Tell some stories you have from whichever corners of the internet you've wandered through. They can be popular stories or something only a handful of people ever knew about.

Back in the 2000s there were dozens of jihadi al-Qaeda fanboy forums. The guys that carried out the Madrid and London bombings were guys who used to hang out on those places. They never had any connections with al-Qaeda. The news media made all of that up. They were just degenerate fanboys from online echo chambers. During the Iraq war, tons of Saudis used went to Iraq as suicide bombers and they were recruited through Internet forums. AQ doesn’t exist. Its just groupies.

Also before Twitter banned terrorists etc different factions of jihadis used to feud over social media. It was funny because jihadi fanboys, Western feds, journos, and counterterrorism “experts” would join in and these guys would argue with each other and air their drama on YouTube, social media etc.

I remember one really surreal thing. You could go on liveleak and watch a battle in Iraq from the insurgents perspective and see the same battle from the perspectives of American soldiers recording it on their devices. There was one time a guy filmed himself getting hit by a sniper and the insurgents also uploaded footage of it online. It was fucking surreal. I think that’s more common now in Ukraine etc. but at the time seeing shit like that was unreal.

2011 or so i was saw some kind of skit on youtube that was titled "The Bathroom" which was just a bunch of people stumbling into a bathroom while someone was just trying to have some privacy and take a shower or something while various hijinks ensued around them, it ended with two guys getting into a fight and one choking the other out and leaving them dead floating in the bathtub

another one was some german youtube channel talking about some weird "controversial" movie which involved some kind of eldritch god and a lot of body horror stuff, i think the only thing that i vaguely remember but cant guarantee is from the same channel was some kind of product placement scandal about actual literal pots and pans in their kitchen

Little 12 year old me had just discovered porn on the internet, but he could only find porn of adults. He wondered if he could find some of girls his age, and with some specific search terms he found it. Not on the dark web, not on some imageboard, but on good old google images.

Some years ago, I came across a Tor site offering serial killers for hire. It was in Russian and English, though the English was pretty broken. Most contracts were for targets in St. Petersburg, with prices depending on their status, like businessmen or government officials.

What made it notable was that you could also order assisted suicide or buy potassium cyanide there. I’m not sharing the link obviously, but last time I checked it’s still online.

It was even featured in an article by Vice:

Livestream on some Discord server (name was like "klinika" or whatever). One guy took a fat dose of methadone HCl to end it all. Just blacked out on stream. Parents eventually walk in and find the corpse.

Oh In Hye final video, pretty disturbing

Snuff gets thrown around pretty often, especially when folks talk darknet and what’s real vs. myth.

There’s one old site, built on WordPress, hosting 500+ videos, still active and updated often.

I've heard a rumor that one beheading video was produced for commercial purposes. Digital copies were sold online. These kinds of videos used to be made for political reasons or crazy people so this is an interesting development.

I remember that video being reposted on SaSu. I remember how the parents noticed that the camera was still running (or maybe that was a different video).

yeah that's it. Somebody made a version with subtitles and "where is my mind" playing in the background, it's really sad and disturbing

when i was 8 (2004) i was on a bunch of tamagotchi forums, and sometimes posted blog threads about virtual pets i was "raising". i had a rare toy from the 90s that i was posting one such thread about. at some point, the "pet" in my toy had died due to my own negligence, but i didnt want to admit that in my thread, so I just restarted the toy and raised it to the same life stage, and in my post i lied and said that i had paused it for a few days to explain the timeline gap. anyway, some other nerd on the board was like "holy heck, you can pause them!? tell me how!", which compelled me to realize that actually, you COULD NOT pause this particular toy. I completely freaked out and had my very first panic attack that day, wondering how I was going to talk myself out of this. In the end I decided to be honest and admit i had lied (I have a heart of gold). I was humiliated that I had sullied my reputation so carelessly

The guy masturbating and later beheaded in it used to post on the Motherless porn imageboard. He was also inspired by an eroguro doujinshi called "Applicant of Death". According to Baka-Updates it was scanlated 19 years ago but couldn't find it(didn't bother much) may consider asking on Gurochan at some point.

I was partially responsible for taking down the Nadeko.net 'Guestbook' page. I took the bait mentioned jews a few too many times.
"Guestbook is down. It will be back up when I want it to."
It currently says something like that on the page.
